Easy to Mix and Use

For body art, mix 100 g of henna powder with:

• 30 ml essential oil (we recommend our French lavender or cajeput oil)

• 225 ml of water or lemon juice

• 30–40 g of sugar (add more for a stringier texture)

Mix until you reach a toothpaste-like consistency. Dye release takes about 5–6 hours with water and 8–12 hours with lemon juice. The paste can be stored in the freezer for up to six months, so you can always have fresh henna ready when inspiration strikes.

For Hair Coloring

If you prefer to use henna as a natural hair dye, mix the powder with lukewarm water and add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. Let the mixture sit for 1–3 hours before applying. Wrap your hair in foil and a towel to keep it warm, and leave the paste on for 1–3 hours depending on the desired depth of color.

After rinsing, you can use a natural conditioning rinse made of 50-60 ml apple vinegar in 1 liter of water, with a few drops of your favorite essential oil for fragrance.

Keep in mind that henna cannot lighten hair; it enhances your natural tone:

• On blonde or gray hair: bright copper or fiery red

• On light brown hair: warm auburn
